Crotch Feather Turpin Short Box

Here is a crotch feather walnut Turpin that I have been working on for a while.  Going out tomorrow to a repeat customer.  Cut the walnut up from a tree on the banks of Lake Jackson at Glen Allan, Ms. a while back.  This was at the invitation of the New's at New Farms.  Lake Jackson was written about in a 1950's Field and Stream article for it's big Largemouth.  I caught an 8 lb. bass within sight of where this tree was.  Paired this one with my favorite African Ribbon Mahogany.  I heard somewhere that Cost Style callmakers do not like burl, but it works just fine in Old Style Turpin and Stribblings.  They just take a little more time in the working and tuning. This one turned out to be both a looker and a great working sound that I would use all day in the woods. Thanks for the look, pictures need to be better.
