CA Glue and Friction Calls

Have any of you fellows used CA glue as finish on your friction calls? Have tried it three or four times and was not happy with the way it was going on the call. Each time I sanded the call down and went back to Tru-Oil. I have used CA glue as a finish on smaller items such as pens and it is a great finish, looks good, gives the finish some depth, and it protect the item very well. I would like to know if any of you all has had success in using CA glue on a friction call. Thanks.

I pm u tonight about can. I use it about 90% of the time.took me about 2 yrz to figure it out.but she. U do I think uwill not anything else

I've done it a couple of times on pots. You really have to know how to work and sand the CA to get a good finish. If it's done right there's little need for the Hut polish. I've been using it for the last 3 years mainly on trumpets and a few tubes and it still gives me problems for time to time.

I've used CA on pens and it is a great finish once you are past the learning curve. The guy that showed me how to use it smoothed it with boiled linseed oil applied with a paper towel while the piece was still on the lathe. We used micromesh to sand to 12K grit.
