Bad Medicine
« on: March 13, 2013, 09:30:32 AM »
After having no real issues with factory shells but wanting more out of my gun, I decided to handload some TSS this year.  I loaded up 16, 3", 2oz loads of #8s.  The TSS #8s reportedly penetrate on par with lead #2s.  I haven't killed any 10" circles yet, but I did shoot these turkey targets at a ranged 40 yards yesterday pm.  First pattern is dad's gun.  It's an 870, 23" bbl, Jellyhead choke, and a Burris Fast Fire 3... I was shocked when I saw this pattern!

My setup is a SX3, 26" bbl, Kicks Choke, and topped with an EoTech 512.  My pattern is a hair left, but I reckon this would still flop one.  Both targets were ranged at 40-41 yards.

I can't see myself going back to factory ammo.  Another 3lbs should be here aroun the first of April.[cool]
