question on value
« on: March 08, 2013, 06:45:18 PM »
Dumb question....

Does the original string lanyard on a trumpet or tube call effect the re-sale value of the call, if it is not with the call?  I only ask as I usually do not like the cheap string lanyards most use and replace them with my own and pitch the original but yes, I save the turned bead(s) and use them on mine.  Just curious as it was brought up in a conversation over a call purchase once.

From a purist point of view, I have seen folks offer less because of changing them out. For me, it easy to just send one back and have the maker replace it. Probably six of one and a half dozen of the other. Now if it were a Neil Cost wing bone..........don't mess with it!
