Rule change?? 6 birds or 7 birds???????? Majority rules.............

Do we want 6 bird total scoring? That way you would be able to drop a no score,But I think we got a bunch of turkey thugs here!!!  Or do we want 7 bird total scoring, that way if you have guys on your team that kill 3 or 4 turkeys and take their best turkey,every one still must kill a turkey before you get a score. Which seem more fair to me. But we will do what the majority wants so VOTE!!!

I went back and re-read it. I think 6 birds would be better as well. Like others have said about the deadbeats part and all would be the only draw back.

I do not believe Mikey means a person can enter a second bird for someone who does not kill one on the team. Each team member can enter a bird for a total of 7 birds per team. Gobblers, jakes, and I assume bearded hens if they were taken legally can be entered. All seven bird scores will be totalled for a team score.

I believe 6 birds makes it more of a competition for all teams.  Lets face it not everyone will kill a bird and 6 birds allows for leeway for all teams to be competitive.

I like each team member being able to enter one bird. I just worry about getting a deadbeat team member who forgets about the contest..

I voted for 7 birds but how about instead of a goose egg for the person who fails to smack one, they get a dummy score of let's say a 3" beard and 1/4" spurs..... they do dummy scores in bowling to offset the absentee to help the team at least stand a chance against better teams and remain competitive ........

I think we should just do, one bird per team member, each team could have up to 7 birds... Unfortunately, it's very possible guys will run into tough luck for the season and struggle to bag a bird and some team members may wind up forgetting about the contest, hopefully those numbers will be relatively even across the teams...

I agree with Bob. If this is a TEAM contest then the entire team should participate. Last year's winning team sure would not have won if each team could have dropped a bird. The team won last year because each of their members killed a bird. The team that finished second last year each of their members also killed a bird.
