Fool Proof For Sure
« on: November 01, 2012, 11:08:03 AM »
Out of all the Lynch calls, the Fool Proof is the most consistent, as far as the sound goes. They're surprisingly a good sounding caller, for being massed produced. I wanted to get one to hunt with, so I got this Liberty, Miss. made one off of ebay for a good price. It was an older looking one and it also had the light colored end blocks. Just something a little different. I was also surprised to see how the end blocks were also counter sunk into the base. This is the first I've seen on a Mississippi Fool Proof. It's also about a half inch shorter than the later Mississippi Fool Proofs.   The handle is a little different, also. Gary

Is this the 1960 or 1965 version.  I have the 1965 version and its a great sounding call!

Fool Proof calls are oustanding little calls, but from my experience, the 12 hole Lynch is by far the most consistant call Lynch, made. Far more Fool Proof calls are out there than the 12 hole and I can see why they are thought of as great little calls.

The 1960 Fool Proof calls were made in Alabama, where as, the 1965 was made in varied locations.

"Nothing is fool proof to a sufficiently talented fool"    *aah*

Sorry about that.  I just heard that quote recently and have been dying to use it.   *lol*

No offense meant toward anyone.

Great find Gary.

..If it's a Liberty, Miss. call then it would have to be a post 1970 call.
..I'm pretty sure someone other than the Lynch Co. altered the handle on the lid.. Still a nice box! I've always preferred a Fool Proof over the World Champ.

Ken, I can't say that. I had a world class anniversary model that I thought a lot more of than my foolproof........that is until I leaned back on it and busted it.  >:( >:(
