Filling the freezer

Here is a pick of a moose a friend and I harvested Mon morning. We stepped out of the truck around 6:15 am and shot him at 6:45 am. It was a very quick hunt. 1st day and 1st time ever hunting them. Beginers luck I guess. His dressed weight was 672 and his rack mesured 42" wide and has 16 points. There were 5 other bulls shot and brought back to camp Mon evening ranging from 600 - 950lbs dressed and 41-48" spreads. It was a great time in the Maine woods.

The country up there is breath taking! We were hunting with Ross Lake Camp and would recomend them to anyone thinking of going to Maine to hunt. They are a little over 80 miles off of paved road. It was a ride but well worth it..

Moose hunting is like turkey hunting on steroids.

Cables, rope, snatch blocks and chain saw to cut trees out of the way. The guide had a ramp built to set on the bumper of his truck and an electric wench mounted on the front of the bed.
