I have one like it that is at least 20 yrs old and it stihl cuts like a new one !! Congrats 1

Still have 2 stihl saws a hedge trimmer and 2 handheld blowers.

I've switched to husky trimmers for convenience sake, but the stihls have always treated us well.

We had 13 pieces of stihl equipment at one time and with a little maintenance they never let us down.

Do yourself a favor and look into getting a rip chain for that saw. The crosscut chains are filed at about 25 degrees and are not made to rip a log lengthwise. That will overwork the motor and burn the saw up quicker. The rip chains are filed at 5 degrees and rip a log much quicker, easier, and smoother, and with more control of the saw. I've been very pleased with mine!

I have a Stihl 024 with a 16 inch bar.  They haven't made that saw in several years, but it's still pulling a lot of wood out of those logs! I had to get a different bar to run my rip chains because of something to do with the sprocket. also, I couldn't get it through my regular saw dealer. They helped me find the right fellow, though. He had to be specially certified by Stihl and the folks who made the bar in order for him to be able to order it. The difference in how that setup rips a log over the crosscut chain is worth every cent and all the effort, though!
