Chestnut Scratchbox
« on: June 13, 2012, 04:46:46 PM »
Here is a scratchbox I built for a member , and he has requested the chestnut that I salvaged from the house I was raised in . The house was built in 1849 and is listed in the Greene county historical register. Winds from the Katrina storm pulled the 150 year old porch off the back of my Mom's house . I was able to save some of the wood and it yields just enough of a solid core for me to make my scratchbox from . This one also has purpleheart and the base is purpleheart and maple . Thanks for looking !
Bob
