Good & Safe Hunting to the Youth Hunters!
« on: April 20, 2012, 05:53:14 PM »
I know Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York (there may be others) have their youth seasons for the next 2 days so I am wishing all the young hunters (boys and girls) and their dads, uncles, grandpas, good friends, mentors, big brothers a safe and great hunt.  I will be taking a close family friend for his 2nd season.  He is only allowed to use a bow (his mom said so :P :-\) and last year I called in a dandy gobbler and the young lad missed him at 14 yards.  Gonna put the decs a bit closer this year.  Honestly, it didn't matter last year the boy was so excited and could hardly speak after the gobbler ran off.  Then once he started he couldn't stop and I was just about in tears I was so dadgum excited and happy for him.

Took my daughter this morning too. Heard one gobbler but on land we didn't have permission to hunt. Saw a grouse, found a few mushrooms. Good day just being together. Can't hunt Sundays here so maybe next Saturday.
