Who makes Turpin calls?

I've never asked this before, so let me know.  I have one from Whitt, and two from Charlie Parrish with another one being built (I'm going to have to take pics of these calls... I love my all Maple Turpin from Charlie!).

They are harder to master, but boy do they sound so sweet *up*

Inquiring minds want to know what is recommended.

I do a "knock off" of a Turpin style box. I call it my "Clayton-Urpin" box ;D
The Turpin styles have straight sides, mine have tapered sides, and are real easy to play. I also do these in a one-sider.
These are a lower pitched call.

I thought (and I'm an idiot for not asking) maybe you had quit building it.  I think I saw a photo or two of them...

Mike, I still build them, I just don't try to push them much.  I stay so covered up in all the other stuff.
These calls are as easy to play as a short box.

Are they hard to run ??? ??? anybody else make them!!!!

 There's a big difference between the way a Turpin plays, than one with angled soundboards like a shortbox. Basically a true turpin has a straight down design, and the paddle has to be manipulated to get the sound you're lookin for. Anything with angled soundboards is basically a shortbox, with the exception of a paddle call of course.. ;D

Also the lid on a true Turpin style call has a pretty tight radius in order to compensate for the straight sides of the call.
My style is basicaly a deep short box with a handle. Just something different than the norm ;D

Whitt makes a reproduction of the original. 

I believe Charlie puts his touch on the turpin, but not 100% sure.

I saw harmondencalls was making some too, but outside of that... I'm clueless :(

A Turpin call is harder to master, but man when you do... they sing a song!!!  I love the ones I have and have some more on order from Charlie!

Well I went and "screwed" up a jab toward Daryl... maybe I should  ban myself?  Geez great job Porter go and mess the joke up... and not many people knew/knows about that one.. except for Charlie and I pictured him shaking his head and saying really bad things about Daryl ROTFLMBO
