Ed, I don't think it happens much to the pot call makers, but I'll let them chime in...in building box calls, it can be a real challenge at times. At 54 I have come to accept what the wood wants to do what IT wants to do, and I never try to force it...now 2 years ago I couldn't say that, but it has happened many times to me and no matter what I have done to "make' the call work, it won't!

Some wood or wood combos simple won't talk turkey. There is one clear master out there who can get many 'odd' combos to work and that is Neils Osterle...he has the touch. Nonetheless, I am glad you still work through it and build some sweethearts...Ole Bill Lyman says you build a dandy Turpin, but he ain't the only one who says that either so keep the saw dust flying my friend.
