I'll have to disagree to some extent. To say a round call is just a round call is like saying a box call is just a box call, or a trumpet call is just a trumpet call, or a wing bone call is just a wing bone call, or well you get the idea. Not all calls are created equal!!! Some guy's are better at making certain types of calls. Larry made what this guy thought was an exceptional sounding call and has plains on "COPYING" that call. Granted all calls may be "SIMULAR" to other makers calls, but the same absolutly not!!!

I understand that some calls do sound better, look better, have more attention to detail, and play easier.  Few people appreciate a finely tuned call as much as I do.   I see what your trying to say, but the bottom line again is nearly the entire selection of "custom" and "production" friction calls are copies.  To what extent or degree the copying happens doesnt matter, if you copy any aspect of this design then you are are a copier as well.  Dont fool yourself with calling it "similar", thats a watered down way of saying you've copied.  Theres no shame in being a copier, as the truth is 99% of pot call makers fall into this category.  I think no less of the makers who make these pot calls, in fact many copies are far better than the originals.  Consider the Model-T when compared to a new Lamborghini.  Its only fair to give credit where credit is due.  Make no mistake about it, if you make a round pot call using the Adam's design your copying another man's call.  You can dress it up however you like, make your striker look funny, and use the strangest surface or pot materials known to man.  In the end, its still a copy.

Now that's some funny stuff right there!  ;D  Seems I remember not long ago, you got mad on another forum because another member sold one of your callmaker buddy's calls?  ???  Why did that upset you so much if it was just a copy of someone else's? Heck you even deleted your account.. ROTFLMBO  Really, why was it any of your business how long the guy had the call before he sold it? He paid for the call and it was his to do with what he saw fit. Heck, he could have thrown it in a pond for that matter, and it would have been no one's business! Exactly what makes you the expert on what's a copy and what' not? Do you build calls?  ???

Well then, why hide in anonymity?  If you know me so well, you already know the answer to the very questions you posed?

Seriously, I really don't know why it upset you so much because someone sold one of your buds calls. He paid for the call. It was his to sell.  I guess my question is, Do you consider that call a copy?

This isnt a Q&A with Chad Wiltz.  Until your willing to identify yourself, I really dont feel compelled to answer any questions regarding the situation from the forum I used to be a member of.  The collector and I resolved the issue months ago.  So what exactly is your role in the matter?

The discussion is about copying, to answer your final question...yes I do and so does the maker.

Wiltz If a guy go's out and makes a call useing the same exact materials and specs as DD Adams than thats a copy. If he claims that it's an original than it's a fake copy. If he builds one and labels it a reproduction of the original than it's a reproduction. All other call that are built today I would call in the style of DD Adams. Just like guys who build Cost style calls!!

Comparing a Modle-T to a Lamburgini is like comparing apples to oranges!! Yea apples and oranges are round!! ROTFLMBO

Well, I guess if you glued a piece of glass or slate in a frisbee, you'd be copying because the frisbee is round.. ;D
